My name is Samantha Smalley, the creator, founder and head chef of Smalley Catering.
My background is simple, but also enriched with layers of variety and purpose, just like my food.

I WAS BORN AND RAISED HERE IN BEAUTIFUL STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO
to my two wonderful parents that have been entrepreneurs in their own right in this valley since 1974. I attended the public schools here, was a member of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and avidly pursued snowboarding and dance. After a snowboarding accident that took me way from competition and gifted me a multitude of recovery hours in front of the television, I discovered the creative beauty and inspiring possibility of the culinary arts.
After graduating from Steamboat Springs High School I went on to pursuing my new found passion at the Culinary Institute of America in New York. While in school I had the opportunity to work in a number of different fine dining restaurants in New York City and work under some of the best chefs in the world. This allowed me to cultivate my own personal style and refine my professional expertise. After receiving my degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management from CIA, I spent time in Miami and Los Angeles, accumulating inspiration and knowledge from a variety of different kitchens.
Now I am back in my home town, gratefully sharing my passion for food with people who share a love for this incredible valley.
